Travellers to Sabah may be interested in checking out Mabul Marine Week.
Individuals who are set to go on Borneo holidays could put the event, which runs from September 24th-29th, in their diaries.
It is the fifth time the celebration has been held and it offers people the opportunity to learn more about marine conservation.
Among the activities that tourists can take part in are coral planting and diving, while specialist nights are being put together about both turtles and sharks.
The Mabul Turtle Hatchery – the only of its kind on the island – could also be a must-see for people and 1,000 baby Green and Hawksbill turtles have been released into the sea through it so far.
Mabul is a small island off Sabah – which is one of 13 states in Malaysia and located on Borneo along with Sarawak.
Sabah is made up of 32 officially recognised ethnic groups.
