A new art event has been launched in Penang.
The 1Malaysia Contemporary Art Tourism 2011 Festival is running until September 30th and those on holidays to Malaysia may be interested in checking it out.
A number of groups, including the Ministry of Tourism, Tourism Malaysia, Muzium dan Galeri Tuanku Fauziah and the Penang State Museum and Art Gallery, are coming together to host a range of activities.
Some 30 art exhibitions will be on display and over 90 artists are allowing their work to form a part of it.
The capital of Malaysia, George Town, will also be celebrated and it is due to be the main focus of the event.
Alternatively, travellers may consider visiting the city of Putrajaya, which according to the Malaysia Tourist Board, boasts "innovative architecture, community-centric town planning and long-term ambitions".
The city is only 16 years old, but is the current host of the Malaysian government.
