Women are being encouraged to visit Thailand when they go on holiday.
Joanna Cooke, consumer marketing and PR manager for Tourism Thailand – which provides information on the country – said the nation is looking to increase the amount of female visitors due to many campaigns being led or orientated by the gender.
She added: "Thailand has got lots of female-friendly activities like shopping and spas and the beaches."
This news could be welcomed by couples who were previously considering going on Thailand holidays, as Ms Cooke noted that the country attracts partners, with the biggest market being 50-plus, followed by 18 to 30-year-olds.
"It's growing as a honeymoon destination as well and obviously is mainly a beach destination. A lot of people are going to the beaches," she observed.
One location with an array of beaches to check out is the island of Koh Samui, which delivers the height of lavishness, according to Chris Reed, who penned a travel piece for the New Zealand Herald.
