Emirates will launch its new flights to Phuket from Dubai on 10th December, with the UK winter regarded as the best time of year to visit this revered Andaman Sea destination.
Services will take off from Dubai at 12:45 and land at Phuket International Airport at 21:55. Return flights will depart for Dubai at 00:35, arriving at the emirate at 04:35.
Tim Clark, Emirates’ president, said the route will provide an extra option for those planning holidays in Phuket from this winter.
“We are confident that Phuket will prove a popular destination for our passengers, especially those from the UAE, Middle East and Europe,” he commented.
Mr Clark added that Thailand represents an “important” destination for the airline, with it already operating four flights per day between Bangkok and Dubai.
Meanwhile, Phuket Wan reported on Tuesday (31st July) that new carrier Thai Smile will be launching flights to Phuket from Bangkok in the autumn.
The airline, which only started operations last month, will operate daily flights from the Thai capital to the island destination on 16th September.
Thai Smile, which was founded in May last year, is Thai International’s attempt to challenge low-cost airlines already in existence in the region.
This is likely to spell good news for holidaymakers, with the increased competition set to be reflected by lower fares.
