The Chiang Rai Candle Festival could be perfect for those who are looking to experience a bit of culture.
It takes place on July 16th and could be something those on holidays to Thailand can check out.
The event is being held at Tung Park, Koam Chiangrai and Wat Phra Sing in the Chiang Rai province.
A large candle parade is organised that will allow people the opportunity to see all of the entrants in the competition for the best wax product.
Wat Phra Sing – a Buddhist temple in the north of Thailand – has a bronze statue of Phra Buddha Si Hing in the Marn Wi Chai posture and it is this figure that gives the site its importance.
Alternatively, those who like their trip to be a bit more action packed may make their way to the Prachinburi province to take part in the Kaeng Hin Phoeng Rafting Season.
